COURSE NAME: PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY II (C202 Th.)

C202.1	To acquire the knowledge about nomenclature and numbering of organic compounds with special reference to heterocyclic compounds containing 3,5,6 member ring and fused systems. To know the core functional groups in organic chemistry.
C202.2	Ability to name medicinal drugs according to the IUPAC system. Acquire basic knowledge of the chemistry of drugs i.e. chemical structure, numbering and nomenclature.
C202.3	Learn about different categories/ classes of medicinal drugs with reference to their definition, examples and classifications based on chemical structure, duration of action, site of action, mechanism of action etc.
C202.4	To understand the different systems in our body and the correlation between diseases and anatomy like CVS, ANS,CNS, Steroids etc.
C202.5	To study physical and chemical properties, stability and storage conditions, action and uses, official preparation and marketed preparation of some important medicinal drugs described in I.P.

COURSE NAME: PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY II (C202 Pr.)

C202.1	To understand the basic concepts of quality and purity of pharmaceutical substances by determining physical constants of organic compounds.
C202.2	Learn about various aspects of identification of organic compounds/ drugs.
C202.3	To understand the procedure for systematic qualitative analysis to identify unknown compounds.
C202.4	To perform elemental and functional group analysis and preparation of derivatives.
C202.5	To analyze a given sample of drug to determine whether it complies official standards or not by performing identification tests as per I.P.
C202.6	To synthesize or prepare drugs. To calculate their theoretical yield and percentage yield.

COURSE NAME: PHARMACOLOGY AND TOXICOLOGY (C203 Th.)

C203.1	Understanding the scope of pharmacology, sources and nomenclature of drugs, routes of drug administration, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, factors affecting drug action, drug interactions and adverse drug reactions.
C203.2	Understand the pharmacology of the drugs acting on the central nervous system and autonomic nervous system: including their classification, mechanism of action, pharmacological action, routes of drug administration, dose, therapeutic use, major adverse drug reactions, drug interactions and contraindications.
C203.3	Understand the pharmacology of the drugs acting on the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, digestive system and urinary system: including their classification, mechanism of action, pharmacological action, routes of drug administration, dose, clinical use, major adverse drug reactions, drug interactions and contraindications.
C203.4	Understand the pharmacology of the autacoids, drugs acting on the endocrine system and hematopoietic system.

COURSE NAME: PHARMACOLOGY AND TOXICOLOGY (C203 Pr.)

C203.1	To study the experimental animals, their applications and methods of inducing anesthesia in experimental pharmacology
C203.2	To understand different concepts, mechanism of drug action (acetylcholine, adrenaline, atropine, diazepam, phenobarbital, chlorpromazine, histamine and diphenhydramine) and interpret result from graph and observation
C203.3	To study the effect of drugs (acetylcholine, adrenaline, atropine, barium chloride) on isolated tissue preparations (frog’s heart, rabbit intestine, rat ileum and rectus abdominis muscle).

COURSE NAME: PHARMACEUTICAL JURISPRUDENCE (C204 Th.)

C204.1	Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence is the study of theory of law.
C204.2	It includes principles behind law that make the law.
C204.3	Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence helps the students to obtain a deeper understanding of the nature of law, of legal reasoning, legal systems and of legal institutions.
C204.4	Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence also focused on principles of the natural law, civil law and the law of nations.
C204.5	Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence can be divided into categories both by the type of question scholars seek to answer and by the theories of jurisprudence.
C204.6	Study of Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence gives the knowledge about different Acts and rules related to that particular act.

C205.1	Students learn about Different ways of storage of drugs and their management in business.
C205.2	Students learn about different types of drug storage systems, its phases i.e. drug’s trade, economics, management, purchasing, channels, sales, inventory control, financial aspects etc.
C205.3	The ability to share the knowledge about drug handling, drug storage and drug management in various aspects.
C205.4	Understand the importance of drugs in day to day life and all strategies and dependent things regarding drugs.
C205.5	Study about all the phases that drug have to go through and value of each phase relative to other remaining phases.
C205.6	The knowledge of all things which are dependent and plays an important role directly or indirectly to introduce, store, promote and manage the drug’s cycle in all aspects.

COURSE NAME: HOSPITAL and CLINICAL PHARMACY (C206 Th.)

C206.1	Know the functions of hospital, hospital   pharmacy and clinical pharmacy.
C206.2	Understands the manufacturing concepts within the hospital.
C206.3	Helps the students to assist the physician in prescribing and monitoring drug therapy and able to counsel the patient and improves patient compliance towards drug therapy.
C206.4	Gain the knowledge of drug interactions and adverse drug reactions and how to avoid it.
C206.5	Also understand the concept of bioavailability, various diseases, drug abuse, drugs producing toxicity and their antidotes.
C206.6	Know about surgical dressings, surgical instruments and various modern tools of diagnosis.

C206 is the sixth course in second year and ‘.1’ to ‘.6’ are the outcomes of this course.

COURSE NAME: HOSPITAL AND CLINICAL PHARMACY (C206 Pr.)

C206.1	Students able to professionalize the functioning of pharmaceutical services in hospitals.
C206.2	Students will be able to prepare and evaluate water for injection.
C206.3	Students can perform a suitability test for dextrose and sodium chloride used to prepare transfusion fluids.
C206.4	Students will learn evaluation procedures for containers used for parenterals.
C206.5	Students will be able to prepare, sterilize and label transfusion fluids.
C206.6	By this the students are able to evaluate surgical dressings.
C206.7	Students will able to handle data processing equipment i.e. Computers used in pharmacy.
C206.8	Subjects will be able to define the role of pharmacists in first aid treatment, patient compliance and in family planning.
